About this role

We are seeking Senior Research Specialists to support the discovery and delivery of actionable business ideas that will help Fortune 500 finance executives transform their organizations, people and business outcomes. This role enables you to explore your intellectual curiosity in a collaborative, team-based environment. You'll be offered robust training, support, coaching, mentorship, and on-the-job development to achieve career success and advance within Gartner.

In this role, you'll be a key player on the Cross Finance Research Team. Members of this team have the opportunity to work on projects across the corporate finance terrain that develop their research craft, writing skills, and subject matter expertise. You'll work on a team that welcomes and values everyone, and where we embrace a variety of backgrounds and perspectives in support of creating differentiated research.

What you'll do

  • Develop a deep understanding of how finance leaders think and behave to learn what insights will make on impact on their and their team's work
  • Learn and execute Gartner's proven methodology for conducting world-class research that helps senior finance leaders learn and implement best practice solutions to many of today's biggest business challenges.
  • Analyze real-world business problems using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Collaborate with finance subject matter experts to serve as a thought partner and write research deliverables, including but not limited to: white papers, case studies, presentations, guidebooks, and templates,
  • Contribute to, and often manage, entire project life-cycles from scoping to outline to draft to publication.
  • Develop expertise in finance terrain(s) and the use of technology in research.

What you'll need

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, as well as 3+ years of experience in academic or applied research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Passion for learning about corporate finance and how it's being transformed by technology.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to process and understand information quickly, as well as a drive to diagnose and problem-solve issues in order to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience converting qualitative and quantitative information into clear frameworks, written narratives and visually compelling presentations for clients
  • Collaboration skills necessary to manage research projects with multiple stakeholders, and initiative to produce high-quality research individually.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work under ambiguity/uncertainty (e.g., changing factors, limited information).
  • Interest in experimenting with technology including AI to enhance the research process.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 97,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
