As a Lifeguard at the Green Bay Kroc Center you can choose to work morning, afternoon, evening or weekend shifts. The Aquatics Center is open 5:15 am - 8:30 pm. (Closed Sundays) ******* SUMMER INCENTIVE ******* From June 9th - August 16th (10 weeks), work an average of 10 hours/week to earn a $200 bonus.
This position pays $15.53/hour, with the opportunity to earn an extra $1.00/hour for shifts worked Friday evening and all shifts on Saturday! An additional $1.00/ hour is available for those who add a Swim Instructor role to their position. As a Morning Lifeguard, you will keep a watchful eye during group fitness classes, splash play and swim lessons taking place. Afternoon/Evening Lifeguards, will be on deck during the times when swim lessons teach life-saving skills, underwater hockey enthusiasts challenge the depths, and families create aquatic memories. A Weekend Lifeguard oversees the lively open swim windows filled with family activities and exciting features like our splash play area with water tipping bucket and other water features including the always in demand indoor/outdoor water slide. All Lifeguards ensure safety, assist swimmers, and enforce regulations according to the Wisconsin-approved aquatic staffing plan. You'll also handle general facility maintenance and cleaning duties. SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Lifeguard will assist with the implementation of programs, special events, and swim lessons. The Lifeguard will also monitor activities, observe and provide assistance to swimmers, prevent accidents, protect life and enforce regulations. The Lifeguard will also ensure they are positioned in accordance with the State of Wisconsin approved aquatic staffing plan. Position is also required to assist with general facility maintenance and perform other maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned. The noise level will be high. Temperatures will be above normal room temperature in a high-humidity environment. This position will have exposure to chemicals and fumes typically found in a pool environment, as well as exposure to bodily fluids and other potentially infectious materials. For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud. The schedule for the department requires employees to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
