Organization Role This is a mid-level administrative support position reporting to one of the Directors, Standards Development. There is a "pool" of several position incumbents who are engaged in a wide variety of committee activities involving direct contact with TCO Directors and Managers, committee officers as well as a number of other internal and external contacts. Responsibilities require application of some discretion and judgment but generally follow established procedures and precedents. The position functions as an individual contributor. It has no supervisory responsibilities, but may occasionally provide work direction to others. Responsibilities 1. SUPPORT TECHNICAL COMMITTEE OPERATIONS Key/Representative Activities: * Supports 4 to 5 staff managers. * Solicits, posts/distributes main committee and subcommittee information (minutes, ballots, agendas, etc.). * Prepares ballots, ensuring that all requirements are met. * Prepares meeting schedules coincident with meeting announcements, in addition to application reports and crystal reports. * Communicates with committee officers and members, and processes requests for membership, meetings, standards and ballot information. * Maintains word processing files for bylaws, committee reports, standards. * Helps members navigate the website and members tools. * Proficient with in-house systems such as MCS, meetings registration and Committee Operations Warehouse. 2. COMMITTEE WEEK SUPPORT/CUSTOMER SERVICE Key/Representative Activities: * Travel to Committee Week and some independent meetings to provide administrative support services. * Answers non-technical inquiries, as needed. * Coordinates responses to verbal, written, e-mail and fax inquiries pertaining to Standards Development. * Assists with banquet events and setting up WebEx meetings 3. TEAMWORK Key/Representative Activities: * Understands role in team situations for given assignments. * Works cooperatively with team members to accomplish work. * Requests and provides assistance from/to team members as needed (effective utilization of team capabilities/resources). * Engages and contributes to inter department task groups. Minimum Requirements * High School diploma and 2-3 years of general office experience. * Facility with Microsoft Office applications. * A customer service orientation; strong communications/interpersonal skills. * Ability to travel, as needed.
