David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking an experienced and visionary Water/Wastewater Client Manager to drive growth in our practice - fostering client relationships and managing and delivering exceptional projects in the Water/Wastewater market. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle experience for select clients in DEA's Water/Wastewater practice by providing vital solutions for water conveyance, wastewater management, and infrastructure upgrades. Your contributions will ensure that aging systems are modernized, investments are maximized, and essential water resources are preserved for future generations. This role will be pivotal in strengthening DEA's footprint in the Water/Wastewater market in Utah, building meaningful client partnerships, and delivering on the DEA Difference - our commitment to an exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Client Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for select clients, overseeing the full lifecycle of relationships within the Water/Wastewater market. Foster client trust and satisfaction through effective communication, delivery, and service.
- Business Development: Expand DEA's reach by identifying new business opportunities, leading cross-business unit collaboration, assessing client technology trends, and forecasting sales. Proactively position DEA as a leader in Water/Wastewater solutions.
- Project Oversight: Manage and deliver projects and guide project teams to execute projects with precision, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that meets or exceeds industry standards. Oversee project quality, compliance, and alignment with client expectations.
- Team Development: Mentor and support project team members, establishing a culture of excellence and accountability. Provide continuous feedback, development opportunities, and set clear expectations for client and project engagement.
- Financial Stewardship: Take ownership of client profitability, driving favorable contract negotiations, accurate revenue forecasting, and project recovery. Support collections as needed to maintain financial health.
- Strategic Vision: Develop and execute a strategic plan for select Water/Wastewater clients, aligning with DEA's growth plans for this market. Promote DEA's expertise through thought leadership and ensure our services remain at the cutting edge of the industry.
Example Projects May Include:
- Culinary Water and Sanitary Sewer Conveyance Design - Designing culinary water projects, including pipe design, pump design, and water storage facilities. Sanitary sewer projects will include pipe design (gravity and force main), lift station design, and system master planning.
- Hydraulic Modeling and Feasibility Studies - Performing comprehensive hydraulic analysis on various infrastructure systems to identify system vulnerabilities, prioritize capital improvement projects, and master planning.
Utility Relocation & Coordination - Overseeing preparation of engineering plans and working closely with regulatory bodies for water, sewer, storm, and gas utility relocations on UDOT projects. Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a focus on water/wastewater planning and/or design.
- Licensure: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Utah, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a proven record of project management and delivery.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with industry standard design tools and software, and project management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years in Water/Wastewater with a focus on master planning, design and infrastructure rehabilitation.
- Business Development Expertise: 3+ years in client management or business development, with a network of industry connections in Utah.
- Professional Network: Strong relationships with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and utility providers.
- Additional Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, Inroads, Civ3D, or related software.
