About the Role

As an Area Manager, you will oversee multifamily community operations within a defined market, ensuring alignment with company goals by optimizing processes and supporting on-site teams to deliver exceptional resident experiences. This role emphasizes financial performance, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction, while developing leadership skills for career progression. The Area Manager frequently travels within the market to perform responsibilities, including frequent community visits and supporting special assignments as needed.

What You'll Need

Education and Certifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Real Estate preferred
  • Certifications: CAM or CPM certification preferred; real estate license and other certifications like COS, CPO, HCCP, or C3P are advantageous
  • A valid Driver's License is required

Experience

  • 3+ years of progressive community management experience, ideally in multifamily housing
  • Familiarity with compliance programs such as Tax Credit Compliance and HUD Section 8
  • Experience with lease-ups and community redevelopments; multi-site management experience a plus
  • Proficiency in community management software (e.g., Yardi)

Skills and Competencies

  • Financial Acumen: Ability to interpret and manage budgets, P&L statements, and financial reports
  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of REAC, MOR, fair housing laws, and regulatory agreements
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and community management software (e.g., Yardi)
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels
  • Leadership: Proven coaching and team management skills
  • Customer Service: Superior customer service skills with experience managing challenging situations
  • Adaptability: Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed

Estimated Rate of Pay:

$86,608.70 - $112,591.30

This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
