Product Management Director - Retail

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • We seek a dynamic director of Product Management to lead the go-to-market strategy and execution for our Retail business. This role is critical in driving product adoption, revenue growth, and market leadership. The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver with a consistent track record of developing and implementing successful product management campaigns. You will be a key player in bridging the gap between product development and sales, ensuring our products resonate with our target audience and achieve their full market potential.
Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive go-to-market plans for new product launches and existing product improvements, including positioning, messaging, and sales enablement.
  • Define target audience segments and build tailored marketing programs to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, sales, engineering, and marketing) to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Leverage the entire nVent portfolio and new product innovations to position our brands for double-digit growth in the Retail channel.
Product Positioning & Messaging:
  • Craft compelling product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products from competitors and resonates with target audiences.
  • Develop clear and concise value propositions that highlight the benefits and advantages of our products.
  • Create and maintain product management content, including website copy, brochures, presentations, and sales collateral.
Market Research & Analysis:
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats.
  • Analyze product performance and customer feedback to find opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to product management and sales teams to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Sales Enablement:
  • Develop and deliver sales training materials and tools to equip the sales team with the knowledge and resources they need to effectively sell our products.
  • Create sales playbooks, competitive battle cards, and other resources to support sales efforts.
  • Act as a subject matter authority on our products and provide ongoing support to the sales team.
Performance Measurement & Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of product management initiatives.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance data and provide regular reports to management.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns and improve return on investment.
Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Actively develop product management team members.
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to the overall marketing strategy.
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in product management or product marketing, preferably in the retail space.
  • Ideally 10+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams.
  • Consistent track record of developing and implementing successful go-to-market strategies.
  • Solid understanding of product positioning, messaging, and branding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
  • Experience with market research tools.
