We are looking for a West Coast U.S. home-based Business Development Manager - Third Party Remarketing who will play a critical part in providing top-notch products and services in a unique industry and at a rapidly growing organization.

As the Business Development Manager - Third Party Remarketing, you will be responsible to develop Third Party Remarketing relationships externally, through prospecting; lead generation; analytics, proposals, negotiations, and ultimately onboarding new customers. Additionally, lead the team of professionals who support our Third-Party clients to deliver on a superior client experience.

A Day in the Life

50%:

  • Drive Wing-to-Wing sales processes to include client prospecting, lead generation, making sales calls, analyzing data, preparing proposals, negotiating price or other terms, and onboarding new clients to initiate relationship building process.
  • Research and contract new clients with owned vehicles and repossessed assets and sign them up for Remarketing Servicing through Element with the goal of generating service revenue.
  • Develop annual strategic plan including key milestones, deliverables and timelines and execute, engaging others in the business as required.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing development of a strategic plan focused on vehicle remarketing and align with overall organization on strategic goals, to position ELEMENT as a subject matter expert and differentiate us in the marketplace. Support measurements that accurately reflect the success of the strategy and execution of the processes to drive it.
  • Design and implementation of marketing campaigns and auction promotions, evaluation and pricing of vehicles offered for sale, ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of vendors used for disposal, frequent verbal, and written communication to clients regarding the disposition of assets.
  • Understand prospects' business objectives and translate into solutions to achieve successful outcomes for both the client and Element.
  • Capture dealer needs and expectations and tailor Element's offerings to win clients.
  • Develop effective business relationships with new prospects and maintain a cohesive working relationship with departments and functions within the Company.

25%:

  • Manage the 3rd Party Remarketing support team delivering concierge, single contact point services to Element's largest 3rd Party clients; develop team as appropriate to engage in sales opportunities with prospects, as well as gaining additional share of wallet from existing clients.
  • Demonstrate Element's People Leadership Capabilities: Leading Strategically, Cultivating Curiosity, Driving Results, Influencing Others, and Developing Talent
  • Foster collaboration, teamwork, and continuous learning to deliver superior client service, solidify client relationships and maximize employee engagement. Coach, challenge, motivate and proactively manage all team members to deliver best in class service.
  • Responsible for the training, development, implementation, and management of team and individual Goals & Objectives that are aligned with the BSC goals of the organization.

10%:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for both internal and external customer inquiries regarding the used vehicle market and specific used vehicle prices by leveraging industry benchmarks and client defined formulas.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of major competition and recognition of their strengths and weaknesses.

15%:

  • Manage the process of vehicle disposition by directing the flow of assets to maximize the net return on sale; partner with vendor(s) to develop and implement marketing and promotions to maximize returns.
  • Monitor and quantify the performance of all remarketing activities via performance reports pertaining to price achieved, sales and inventory cycle time, conformance to procedures, including regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Participate in the development of techniques to improve sales effectiveness, product knowledge and updating prospect files and lists.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of vehicle remarketing & sales experience, specifically auction operations and representing vehicles at live and online vehicle auctions.
  • Knowledge of asset sales processes and procedures along with the ability to accurately price vehicles for sale
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance, repair and manufacturer's warranty, with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Lifecycle knowledge of asset configurations and the potential impact of resale values
  • Knowledge of vehicle manufacturers, upfit process helpful.
  • Ability to travel to local and field auction locations, as well as conferences etc. (25-30%) (as needed)

  • Ability to work in a professional business environment using tact, discretion, and good judgment to respond to all requests in a professional and courteous manner and lead by example.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a contributing team member. Professional interaction with clients, partners, and internal employees
  • Experience at effectively building and fostering strong relationships with internal and external business partners and clients.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated practical analytical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in support of various teams or groups.
  • Manages to time standards for turn-around expectations.
  • Effective at prioritizing and organizing work for maximum efficiency.
  • Able to identify high priority tasks and escalate when appropriate.
  • Ability to build and maintain a solid working knowledge of Element internal systems
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and expand business knowledge in the Fleet industry
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The hiring base salary range for this position is $128,000 - $176,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
