Job Description: SHEQ Specialist

Location: Binghamton, NY

Salary: $79,110 - $109,440

Our client is seeking an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) Specialist to oversee field inspections, quality assessments, and administrative activities related to construction projects. The SHEQ Specialist will ensure that safety, quality, and environmental management systems are adhered to, and will help identify and control occupational safety and health hazards in construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Conduct field inspections and quality assessments, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.



  • Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control occupational safety and health hazards in construction environments.



  • Lead safety and health orientations for construction staff.



  • Assess permit conditions within construction certificates and environmental plans, ensuring proper implementation during the execution phase.



  • Report any deviations from safety, health, or environmental standards and propose corrective actions to the project owner.



  • Oversee SHEQ activities to ensure conformance to ISO-certified Quality and Environmental Management Systems.



  • Assist with training and communicating Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) processes and procedures.




Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.



  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Six Sigma and Quality Management System standards (e.g., ISO 9001, TS-16949).



  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Environmental Management System standards (e.g., ISO 14001).



  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.



  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience with a diverse project background.



  • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Construction Course.



  • Experience in the functional areas of Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro, and OSG preferred.
