The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $73,000.00 - $109,400.00

Job Description

The Solution Administrator is responsible for Solution Management, Integration Maintenance, Ed Tech Engagement, Security and Compliance, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, User Support and Training, Vendor Management, Integration Review and Advisement, Performance Monitoring and Optimization, and Policy Development and Documentation. The Solution Administrator ensures the seamless operation of the university's technological infrastructure while adhering to industry standards and best practices. Job Duties
  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of software solutions critical to the university's operations.
  • Manages the integration of various systems and platforms to ensure interoperability and data consistency.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to identify, evaluate, and implement educational technologies that enhance the learning experience.
  • Implements and enforces security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive plans to mitigate the impact of disasters and ensure business continuity.
  • Provides technical support to users and conducts training sessions to promote efficient use of technology resources.
  • Liaises with vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Evaluates proposed integrations for feasibility, compatibility, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors system performance, identifies bottlenecks, and implements optimizations to enhance efficiency.
  • Develops and updates policies, procedures, and documentation related to technology usage and administration.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
KSAs
  • Proficiency in system administration, particularly in cloud-based environments.
  • Strong understanding of integration techniques and protocols.
  • Knowledge of educational technologies and their applications in online learning environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.
  • Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in developing and refining educational programs, courses, and curricula within the higher education sector.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and student information systems (SIS).
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL

Position & Application Details
