DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As Chief Counsel, you will leave work each day knowing that you played a part in helping provide recreational outdoor opportunities for individuals and families that enjoy Pennsylvania's waterways and natural resources. You will be responsible for rendering legal advice and providing a full range of legal services, including the preparation and review of contracts, leases, deeds, and other real estate documents; conducting research in rendering opinions; as well as preparing and reviewing materials for proposed legislation. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge of the Commonwealth's Right to Know Law program by responding to inquiries and formulating regulations. Work also involves performing a full range of supervisory duties, including managing both the legal office and the Public Access and Property Services Division of the Commission. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Irregular hours and overnight travel may be required.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Current license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
- Certification for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Supervisory experience
- Litigation and settlement negotiation experience
- Experience working with a commission or board
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
