JOB TITLE:

Assistant Clinical Faculty Physician

JOB PURPOSE:

Physician clinical faculty shall be the title granted to those employed to teach in health care related programs offered by the University; the college dean and other appropriate academic officers will determine the appropriate academic qualifications and professional experience for these faculty. Such appointments shall be for not more than one year in duration; however, one may be reappointed annually subject to a satisfactory annual performance evaluation and available funding. Service as a Clinical physician faculty serving on the academic clinical (vs. tenure) track does not entitle one to tenure and its privileges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESIDENT EDUCATION
  • Provide oversight and education to residents in the context of direct patient care by residents.
  • Provide didactics to the residents.
  • Evaluate resident performance.
  • Oversee and organize assigned curriculum and ensure ACGME requirements are met for assigned curriculum.
  • Provide advisor support for assigned residents as advisees.

PATIENT CARE
  • Manage assigned patient panel at the Educational Health Center Clinic in Casper including on average 2 clinics per week when not covering the adult in patient team.
  • Participate in attending call coverage.

MISCELLANEOUS
  • Attend weekly faculty meetings and annual program evaluation meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to the residency.
  • Participate in faculty development.
  • Participate in scholarly activity.
  • Engage in other areas of interest and need that contribute to the residency's mission.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

As directed by PD

COMPETENCIES:

Excellent teacher and provider of patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctor of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Completion of a Family Medicine Residency.
  • Unrestricted Medical License in the State of Wyoming.
  • Unrestricted DEA License.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Family Medicine Residency Faculty Experience or Fellowship Training in Family Medicine.
  • Providing obstetrical care including cesarean sections.
  • Experience with a Federally Qualified Health Center or similar type of clinic.
  • Familiarity with ACGME requirements for Family Medicine Residencies.
  • Leadership experience.
