Client:Technology/Software Company Role: Payroll Tax Accountant Payrate: $50/hr -$70/hr Location: Manhattan, NYC or Tampa, FL Duration: 3-4 month consulting project with potential to extend or convert based on budget and performance Hybrid Position *Must have experience with the software "MasterTax" Must have Multi state experience Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Job Description We are seeking an experiencedPayrollTaxAccountant for a consulting engagement lasting 3-4 months. This hybrid role can be based in either Tampa Bay, FL, or New York City, NY. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience withpayrolltaxamendments andMasterTax softwareand will be responsible for ensuring compliance and accuracy intaxfilings. What You Will Work On Adhere to and maintainTaxAmendment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Prepare, file, and amendpayrolltaxreturns, including W2Cs and 1099s (NEC and MISC), across all federal, state, and local jurisdictions using MasterTax. Backfilepayrolltaxreturns as necessary based on client-provided information. Conduct research, resolvetaxissues, and follow up withtaxing jurisdictions and internal teams related to amendedtaxreturns. Identify trends inpayrolltaxinquiries and escalate for engineering intervention when needed. Utilize knowledge of R&D, Employee RetentionTaxCredit (ERTC), and otherpayrolltaxcredits to ensure accuratetaxamendments. Collaborate with key stakeholders to improvepayrolltaxprocesses and procedures. Assist in training new team members and provide progress reports to direct managers. Perform otherpayrolltax-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience withpayrolltaxamendments in a multi-state environment. MasterTax experience is REQUIRED.* Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be process-driven, resourceful, and adaptable. Proficient in multiple software programs andtaxsystems. Experience managing multi-state accounts for either a single large employer or a large multi-employer organization. Prior experience working in apayrollservice provider environment. Taxfiling and deposit experience required. Customer service experience working withpayrollortaxclients. FPC or CPP certification from the AmericanPayrollAssociation is a plus. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
