Position Overview

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, managing financial reporting, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and internal controls.


Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:



  • Prepare internal reports for management, providing insights on performance and financial
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to management, highlighting trends, variances, and potential financial issues.


Accounting Operations:



  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.


Internal Controls & Compliance:



  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Perform regular internal audits and ensure proper documentation for financial transactions.



Tax Compliance & Reporting:



  • Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant filings.
  • Review tax provisions, ensuring accurate reporting in financial statements.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect the organization's tax strategy.


Budgeting & Forecasting:



  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Provide variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual results and budgeted figures.


Team Collaboration & Supervision:



  • Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, ensuring high levels of performance, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide training, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Develop staffing plans and allocate resources to meet departmental goals.
  • Work closely with the Controller to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.


Process Improvement:



  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
  • Lead or participate in system upgrades, process automation, and other projects to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).
  • CPA (Preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience with Unanet preferred.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.


Desired Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Pay Range

$140,000 - $160,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
