JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Chemical Engineering at Penn State is looking to hire a full-time postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Enrique Gomez' lab at the University Park campus. The postdoctoral researcher will play a key role in advancing electron microscopy of functional polymers. The responsibilities will include characterization of materials for organic electronics, membranes, and biopolymers.The postdoctoral researcher will also analyze and interpret experimental data to understand the multi-scale morphology, and push the limits of current and emerging techniques for electron microscopy. The postdoctoral researcher is also expected to collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot challenges and propose innovative solutions. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will be required to stay updated with the latest advancements and literature in the field of polymer microscopy, to prepare scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations for conferences and publications, and to assist in mentoring and supervising graduate and undergraduate students. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and a list of three references. This is a term position funded for one year with additional years of funding available if there is mutual interest. This position requires a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline by the appointment date.
