Job Description

The Manager, Master Production Scheduling leads the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) team who is responsible for the creation of an executable master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while maintaining targeted inventory levels, resource utilization and meeting customer service expectations. This role is the principal owner of the Rough-cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) process and is a significant contributor to the Operations Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions.The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

Responsibilities

  • Build a high performance team that includes establishing IDP's, performance management and reviews, as well as 1:1 coaching and mentoring for all direct reports.
  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the MPS team including process adherence, management of tasks and decisions, and collaboration with other teams to drive efficient and effective results.
  • Support the Supply Chain, Sourcing and Operations Teams by identifying the drivers for supply disruptions and analyzing the impact on Service, Productivity and Revenue. Perform ad hoc analysis and provide options for Service recovery.
  • Produce and present content each monthly cycle during S&OP. Ensure the master production schedule fits with S&OP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) guidelines as set forth by the management team.
  • Serve as the process owner for the Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) process.
  • Identify, resolve and find root cause to planning issues by using appropriate problem solving techniques.
  • Understand the linkages and facilitate synergies between all areas that interact with/in the supply chain such as Material Planning, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Production Scheduling, Transportation, Distribution Centers, Order Fulfillment, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance and The Business Units. Be the product availability focal point for all other groups.
  • Lead high priority, cross functional supply chain projects that support the Global Plumbing Group (GPG) Vision into Action
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required; APICS certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related supply chain experience. Some prior supervisory experience or experience coaching others is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems - SAP (APO & R3) Master Scheduling, Production Planning, MPR with exposure to purchasing
  • Demonstrated record of increased responsibility for complex projects while supporting strategic initiatives
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem solving skills are required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and establish relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence and drive solutions across supply chain
  • Must be a team player with the ability to think conceptually, flexibly and a strong focus on execution.
Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
