COMPANY: National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) DUTIES: Monitors, administers, oversees, and incrementally enhances Amtrak's transportation platform and applications. Directs team to execute the following tasks: respond to change and trouble tickets; monitor the platform for failures, exceptions, and threshold issues; tune and optimize applications performance; test applications for product upgrades and patches; communicate with customers and upper management about platform and/or ticket status; and work on minor enhancements. Provides subject matter expertise and technical direction on major projects and is responsible for overseeing systems analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement. Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Ensures solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and follow the organization's architectural standards. REQUIREMENTS:Must have a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Data Engineer or any occupation related to Data Science. Employer will also accept a Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative field followed by three (3) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Data Engineer or any occupation related to Data Science. Experience must include three (3) years with the following: 1) Optimizing analytics performance by writing SQL queries on data residing in relational databases using Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure relational databases; 2) Developing data pipelines using Informatica and Databricks to move and transform data from multiple data sources into an enterprise data warehouse to ensure data is suitable for Business Objects, Tableau, and Power BI reporting and analytics; 3) Implementing continuous integration and continuous development using CI/CD tools, including Bitbucket, Git Hub, and Azure DevOps; and 4) Implementing SAFe Agile development practices by working with product owners and scrum masters and using Jira to track issues and defects. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with company policy.
