Summary:

Coordinate activities associated with maintenance and pertinent contractors such as, in house maintenance contractor, scaffolding, vacuum trucks, insulators etc. Also operate as liaison between maintenance, operations, engineering and the warehouse to streamline the process of a maintenance activity from planning through execution. Validate daily contractor time sheets and invoices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Approach all aspects of the work being performed with safety as the highest priority.
  • Principle liaison between the maintenance department, associated contractors, operations and the engineering group to ensure the facility receives professional maintenance service in a timely manner optimize equipment availability and performance.
  • Take assignments from the mechanical maintenance manager and review work request and determine validity and accuracy of information. Review scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number (if applicable), proper authorization and discuss details with the work requester and engage the appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority.
  • Identify work requiring engineering design and review them with engineering.
  • Escalate issues to Supervision for work which does not appear to be valid or will be budget variance.
  • Obtain and organize all information required for the crafts to perform the work; drawings, vendor manual, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, and other file material which is appropriate. Supplement this information by preparing any additional sketches, drawings, diagrams, notes or any instructional material which will clarify the work to be performed.
  • Identify and secure all parts and material required to complete the work by providing a Bill of Material for the job. Also, track critical parts from removal to return to service.
  • Provide job estimates based on craft or skills required, sequence required, and number required.
  • Determine and identify any vendor delivered service for the work order (i.e., contract vibration service or alignment service).
  • Verify all material, information, tools and labor are available prior to requesting downtime.
  • Work with maintenance supervisors, planners and the contract superintendents to determine resource availability and work to the level of the work force.
  • Actively participate in maintenance scheduling meeting with operations partners to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
  • Manage a backlog of work orders which require major or significant portion of the facility to be shutdown.
  • Perform On-Call Supervisor assignments



Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • HS diploma, Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in industrial maintenance operations including maintenance skilled craft knowledge (i.e., mechanics, electrical, machinery, etc.)
  • Must have excellent PC skills and be proficient with applicable software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must be familiar with and or able to implement Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have and maintain or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license for the state of residence.


Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Previous experience utilizing SAP Plant Maintenance
  • Associates or bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Apprenticeship program or technical school background is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Crude and NGL systems, including pumps, valves, compressors, heaters, pipelines, and marine loading.
  • Familiar with PHMSA and PSM regulations.


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • Normal office working conditions with approximately 70% of the time in the field.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Position is based in industrial settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
