Audiologist
Overview Provides comprehensive audiologic services for prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation and rehabilitation to patients with communication deficits resulting from hearing impairment. Responsibilities Affixes electrodes to patients for reading various vision, balance and body compensatory movements. Performs audiometric tests and evaluations designed to determine auditory status and integrity including diagnostic, immittance, electronystagmography and auditory evoked potentials. Operate audiometer, tympanometer, OAE, and evoked potential machines. Assists with the interpretation of test results. Counsels parents of hearing impaired children regarding psychosocial issues pertaining to rearing their child in a hearing society. Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation and reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree in Audiology plus ASHA/ABA certification. One year of clinical pediatric experience or specialized clinical 4th year training is required. Doctoral (Au.D./Ph.D.) degree in Audiology is preferred. Virginia license is required.
