Volunteer Services Coordinator For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands-on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset. AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities. What will you do? The Volunteer Services Coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
This position will focus on volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations. Where will you serve?
The experience our AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator will gather during their service term will be memorable and indispensable. Unlike most other Habitat positions, this role spends a lot of time both on construction sites and in the office. On site, the AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator will focus on the day-to-day logistics surrounding our volunteers shifts. This includes everything from checking in volunteers and conducting orientations, to maintaining equipment and tidying up at the end of the day. In the office, the AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator will help with a wide variety of administrative tasks ranging from scheduling and communications to program development and event support. Life in this position is never dull, and by the end of their service, the AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator will have developed a robust set of skills that will serve them well in virtually any context!
When will you serve? Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process.
