Position Summary
This position will serve as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator within the Psychiatry department and the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program ( CHAAMP: https://www.med.unc.edu/psych/research/foundation-of-hope/chaamp/). The ACRC will primarily contribute to the Social Motivation Study ( SMS). The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with the execution of study protocols, including screening and recruiting study participants, conducting study visits, and collecting, entering, and reviewing study data.

The Social Motivation Study ( SMS) is a NIMH funded R01 investigating links between early childhood adversity exposure, social motivation, pubertal development, and preteen risk for self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. This is a longitudinal study that will enroll 200 preteen girls between ages 8-11 and follow them prospectively for 1-year. Participants will complete ecological momentary assessment ( EMA) surveys, clinical interviews and questionnaires, a behavioral task assessing social motivation, and repeated saliva sampling to track pubertal hormone changes. Additionally, a sub-project will include a functional neuroimaging scan for a subset of girls. The successful candidates will contribute primarily to SMS but may also contribute to other mental health studies elsewhere in CHAAMP.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Must have a valid NC driver's license and have access to a vehicle to conduct data collection activities. Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on the state's standard mileage reimbursement rate. Must also have the ability to occasionally work early evening hours and occasionally up to 4 weekend days per month to facilitate data collection with children and families.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of psychology, social work, public health, biology, neuroscience, or a related field.
