Position Description: Valley has joined forces with New York's Mount Sinai Health System to bring exceptional and distinctive care to patients in northern New Jersey. Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care is organized around diseases, and provides unique clinical programs for our patients, as well as educational and research opportunities for our staff. We have QOPI certification and accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. An on-site team provides support for our active research program, including investigator-initiated clinical trials in addition to NCTN and industry-sponsored research. Protected time is provided for ongoing trials and intramural funding is available for investigators to develop innovative research programs. Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care is the proud recent recipient of a grant to fund initiatives to increase patients' access to clinical trials and other opportunities for underrepresented patient groups.
Currently, two outstanding medical oncologists work closely with 2 breast surgeons, 2 gynecologic oncologists, dedicated radiation oncologists and advanced practice providers to offer comprehensive care to patients with breast or gynecologic cancer. There are weekly multidisciplinary disease-specific tumor boards as well as research conferences. Our NAPBC-accredited Breast Center offers state-of-the-art breast imaging, lay and nurse navigators, a dietician/health coach, and an innovative survivorship program. The successful applicant with share in an anticipated 1 in 8 hematology/oncology call schedule. Requests for flexible work schedules will be seriously considered. Appointment to the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at a level commensurate with experience and academic potential is anticipated. Education M.D or D.O from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy Board certified or eligible in Medical Oncology. Certification or eligibility in Hematology is desirable A valid New Jersey State Medical license, DEA, and CDS required BLS and ACLS required Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
