Vice President, Specialty Casualty Claims

  • Location: USA - NY - New York
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid
  • The salary range for this role is:$190,000-285,000

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to oversee a Specialty Casualty Claims team, to collaborate effectively with business leaders, underwriters, and brokers, and to deliver exceptional Claims service aiming to enhance service quality and drive profitability.

Your New Role:

  • Drive the implementation of claims management strategies and objectives for Specialty Casualty.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure that the Claims function is aligned to the needs of the class of business.
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships with the insured, agents, service providers and the general public.
  • Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviours and through the use of management best practice.
  • Ensure legitimate claims are paid following policy conditions by providing technical expertise and leadership.
  • Supervise the investigation and settlement of all claims within the team.
  • Plan, manage and review the performance of staff via an annual performance review process.
  • Compliance with best practice, regulatory/legal requirements and company processes and policies.
  • Continuous business process improvement including process and cost efficiencies/synergies.

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Extensive portfolio experience, including an understanding of micro economics and the insurance sector.
  • Experience managing Claims teams across multiple locations.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
