About the Opportunity:
In this role, you will traverse diverse and uneven terrains like wetlands, forests, and/or urban areas to set up and collect mosquito traps, inspect wide variety of aquatic habitats and conduct mosquito control activities using biological, cultural, and chemical methods in order to improve or sustain community safety. Generally, you will work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions; therefore, it is required to be comfortable working in such conditions and have the ability to perform physical tasks such as walking long distances, carrying equipment, and setting up traps. You will also work independently or in small teams and may interact with the public. It is important to adhere to the safety protocols in this role.

Due to the nature of the responsibilities, these positions are not eligible for remote work. Occasional early morning or weekend work may be required depending on the business needs.

These positions are seasonal temporary assignments. Seasonal positions can be assigned up to 40 hours per week for up to 6 months of duration. These positions are eligible for sick time accruals, but are not eligible for other fringe benefits.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for candidates who are motivated and dependable with a passion for outdoor work and public health. They should have a basic understanding of mosquito biology or a willingness to learn, coupled with strong observational and data collection skills. They are also detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team and possess effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, staff and the public.
Prior experience in mosquito control, environmental science, or similar fieldwork is a plus, but not required, as training is provided.
