THE POSITION

Washington County Community Corrections is now hiring a Community Corrections Case Monitor! Candidates with bilingual English/Spanish skills and nonbilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Washington County Community Corrections serves an important role in keeping our community safe. This department works to prevent the recurrence of crime among adult justice-involved individuals (JIIs) by supervising them and connecting them with the resources they need to change problem behavior. Community Corrections supervises approximately 3,000 JIIs using a range of evidence-based strategies, while working in partnership with the courts, law enforcement, and the State Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision.

Community Corrections Case Monitors provide basic administrative case management support to certified Probation and Parole Officers. Duties include assisting in completing JII intakes by pre-screening and conducting basic initial interviews as JIIs are referred to the department for supervision or pre-sentence investigation; recording and updating basic social history information in database records; and processing routine transactions and requests for information.

Our Ideal Candidate is highly organized and able to multitask. They can maintain a professional and supportive relationship with JIIs while remaining focused on community safety. They excel at working collaboratively with others in a team environment, effectively communicating both orally and in writing with the courts, law enforcement, and the State Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision.

Classification descriptions are typically written broadly. To review the full information of this classification, please use the following link: Community Corrections Case Monitor

Skills in writing Spanish accurately; ability to speak Spanish fluently; and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing are required. An additional $75 per paycheck is provided to employees occupying positions designated as bilingual.

Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every job description task. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job and that candidate may come from a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences.
