Would you like to contribute to the protection of the environment and the operational reliability of our pipeline systems by performing high value, high risk work associated with routine pipeline maintenance and open system hot work on all mainline piping, terminal and station facilities?

*Cross Border Relocation not available for this position

What you will do:

  • Operate Company vehicles safely and maintain electronic driver's log.

  • Attend & complete training courses as required.

  • Inspecting, Operating, and Maintaining Tools & Equipment specific to PLM.

  • Perform all types of applicable pipeline maintenance and repair (e.g., emergency repair, stopple, etc.) using appropriate Company procedures including but not limited to tasks listed in Company manuals.

  • Become Operator Qualified on all required covered tasks prior to performing work independently and oversee those not qualified when required.

  • Perform Pigging Duties (cleaning tools & Inline Inspection Tools) as required

  • Complete On-call/Alcohol free duties on a rotating basis, once OQ'd on specific tasks.

  • Assist other work groups (Operations & Maintenance) as directed.

  • Completion of Work Orders in Maximo

  • Understand and comply with all safety requirements relative to the performance of pipeline maintenance.

  • Issue work permits as required and act as a Company inspector of contract work as required.

  • Eliminating, containing, and reporting all product and/or crude leaks, seeps, and spills

  • Assisting in maintaining emergency equipment, assigned vehicles and trailers.

  • Provide effective assistance in emergency response including containment, repair, and cleanup as well as emergency preventative actions relating to abnormal right-of-way conditions to avert any possible incident.

  • Submit weekly timesheets accurately and on time.

  • Complete expense reports per company policy.

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-2 years of experience in operations or maintenance for a crude oil pipeline, tank farm or delivery facility.

  • Basic understanding and use of computers

  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record.

  • Should live within 25 miles of the reporting location, unless agreed upon by management.

  • Ability to fit test and wear SCBA, full face & half mask air-purifying respirators.

Preferred:

  • Construction background

  • Previous Experience Operating Equipment (Aerial Lifts, Skid Steer, Front End Loader)

  • Commercial Driver's License, Class A

  • Previous experience towing trailers.

Working Conditions:

  • Field and office environment with regularly scheduled travel and overnight stays.

  • Frequent travel to construction sites.

  • Frequent over time and flexibility required to manage multiple projects, emergency response operations, adverse weather conditions, work priorities, fieldwork schedules, and out of town travel.

  • Shifting priorities to meet changing directions.

  • Position frequently requires quick decision making under intense conditions. Position also requires a working knowledge of field and office diplomacy and political correctness.

  • Works independently with little day to day direction.

  • Time commitments often extend beyond normal working hours.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limit3ed to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (Up to 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
