Overview

US TDI Regulatory Engagement is embedded in the TDI Strategy & Enablement team which brings together the TDI Strategy, Change Enablement and Regulatory Engagement. The TDI Strategy & Enablement team sets out guidance to the TDI organization on strategic priorities via the TDI Strategy and drives consistent messaging towards internal and external stakeholders, especially to regulators.

The US TDI Regulatory Engagement Lead is responsible for all of TDI's regulatory engagement and exam management in the Americas, including (but not limited to) the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), the Office of the Comptroller (OCC), the NY Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), but as well to participate in exams from other regions, where the US is the focus of questions and requests. In addition, the role covers the management of monitorships and third-party reviews induced by US Regulators, for instance the annual FRB-mandated OFAC Morrison & Foerster Monitorship Compliance Review. The role ensures that any such regulatory requests - whether from exams, meetings or ad-hoc information requests, are responded to in a concise way and a timely manner, in line with the expectations of our regulators. The role requires thought leadership, strong diplomacy and communication skills. The role reports to the Head of TDI Strategy & Enablement, based in Frankfurt.

What You'll Do

  • Centrally coordinates TDI's US regulatory agenda to help manage and/or support regulatory exams, meetings and information requests

  • Works collaboratively with US TDI leadership and key stakeholders across the DB franchise, to ensure accurate and timely responses, agenda setting, messaging and communications to regulators

  • Manages escalations related to regulatory related matters and/or deliverables, and provides support to ensure proper awareness and communication to management

  • Supports meaningful updates and highlights potential risks for regulatory deliverables, including milestones, supervisory findings (MRAs, MRIAs), etc.

  • Supports key stakeholders for regulatory responses and updates, ensuring comprehensiveness of response and consistency across disciplines.

  • Provides clear, concise and balanced updates to senior forums, internal governance committees and Americas legal entity - boards

How You'll Lead

  • Partner effectively with the TDI Risk & Control team as well as the regulatory engagement teams in the other regions

  • Identifies opportunities for synergy, overlap, or ability to leverage efforts between various regulatory commitments, and drive process improvements

  • Manages a team of 3 FTE in the Americas region

Skills You'll Need

  • Extensive experience in financial services and regulatory engagement

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of people across functions / seniority

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in written responses to regulators such as on MRA, MRIA, exam findings

  • Strong experience in driving governance and controls

  • Understanding and application of project management methodologies across delivery life cycle

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Strong leadership skills and presence; needs to lead through influence / without formal authority; well-developed interpersonal and executive communication skills

  • Ability to quickly dissect questions in terms of what the actual focus of the topic is ('why do they ask what they ask?') and where to address these questions within the franchise

  • Self-starter who brings high sense of urgency to assignments and goals, with integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change and working in a large, complex organization

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $170,000 to $280,500.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
