Position Purpose: To coordinate the activities involved with maintaining our tool and equipment inventory, along with the timely shipping and receiving of tool and equipment orders to job sites

Essential Responsibilities

* Assure that field operations receive proper assets in a timely matter

* Coordinate the delivery and transfer of equipment and tools.

* Track and monitor asset (equipment, tools) usage

* Analyze and develop logistics plans that may affect operations, equipment distribution and tool inventory

* Works with Project Managers and General Foreman to demobilize at the end of a project

* Perform physical inventory of tools coming into warehouse. Make transfer of tools on and off projects within the MJ System

* Makes sure warehouse is organized and well maintained.

* Effectively communicate and train MJE personnel regarding Tool & Equipment policies, procedures, systems and processes

* Maintain effective communications with Tool Control & Leasing in Iron Mountain, coordinate tool and equipment transfers, scraping, obsolescing, repairs, etc.

* Performs warehouse work such as unloading and loading trucks, stocking shelves, operating a forklift and maintaining inventories

* Performs minor tool and equipment repairs

Knowledge | Skills | Abilities

* Ability to communicate effectively, show initiative, and fit into a team environment

* Solid mechanical/technical knowledge and computer skills

* Ability to organize work to allow for constant reprioritization and adapt to changes

* Ability to supervise a group of mechanics who will have a constantly evolving set of work priorities

* Proven organizational skills with the ability work independently and meet deadlines

* A solid understanding of inventory management concepts

* A solid understanding of DOT regulations.

* Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or Equivalent (Education beyond High School preferred)

* 1-4 years of Inventory or Fleet Management experience in a construction environment

* Thorough knowledge of equipment and tooling used in the construction and maintenance of overhead transmission, overhead distribution, and substation projects

Work Environment

* Must be able to remain standing approximately 50% of the time

* Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, climbing

* The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

* Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions

* Occasionally lifting 40 pounds
