Genesis10 is currently seeking an Infrastructure IT Project Manager with our client in the Transportation industry located in Dallas, TX. This is a 12+ month contract job opportunity and must be able to work onsite.
Description:
The Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for managing complex infrastructure and security projects within the Technology department. Will use best practices and industry conventions to plan projects and accomplish agency goals. Familiar with all aspects of infrastructure projects, have good stakeholder management experience with strong networking / system engineering knowledge. Knows what roles and processes are necessary to complete successful project implementation. Familiar with various aspects of IT infrastructure and security.
Efficient with PMI Project Management methodology and Agile project framework.
Responsibilities:


  • Defines and manages project scope, requirements, deliverables, and activities.
  • Prepares and maintains project documentation including but not limited to Requests for Proposals, Statements of Work, Project Charter, Communication Plans, Project Schedules, and Lessons Learned.
  • Develops the project schedule, secures resources, assigns responsibility to project activities, and monitors project progress. Manages and tracks project change, risk and issues as well as recommends and implements corrective action and risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepares and presents project status to management. Establishes and maintains a relationship with vendors.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with team members and other departments involved in the projects.
  • Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of project management standards and practices.
  • Remains current on industry issues, trends, and new methods through trade journals, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to be able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Can get messages across that to have the desired effect.
  • Ability to quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all. Can represent his/her own interests and yet be fair to other groups. Can solve problems with peers with a minimum of noise.
  • Is seen as a team player and is cooperative.
  • Easily gains the trust and support of peers. Encourages collaboration. Can be candid with peers.
  • Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Can see hidden problems. Is excellent at honest analysis. Looks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answers.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Transportation Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Eight years of experience managing infrastructure and security projects.
  • Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project Online / Project for the Web, Azure DevOps
  • PMP certification required
