Full job description

The EFCA national office is seeking a full-time Senior Payroll Accountant to manage the EFCA payroll processes within established deadlines and policies, and ensure compliance with applicable payroll, tax, and employment requirements.

Start Date: ASAP

Hours Per Week: 40

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of processing multi-state payrolls for EFCA employees.
  • Process new hires and terminations for ReachGlobal missionary personnel and follow up with appropriate ReachGlobal staff as needed to ensure information is accurate and complete.
  • Produce accurate and timely processing of all payrolls.
  • Research, resolve, and communicate complex payroll issues; respond to inquiries from employees and personnel involved with the human resources and payroll functions.
  • Oversee all payroll reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit by preparing the necessary work papers. Coordinate the annual workers compensation audit.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation and journal entries related to payroll accounts.
  • Maintain payroll files ensuring that access is restricted to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide ongoing training to Accounting Assistant to ensure readiness for back-up duties.


Skills and Education Requirements:

  • Alignment with and commitment to the mission and values of the EFCA
  • Associate's degree in business; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five years of full-cycle payroll experience; knowledge of clergy and/or international payroll issues a plus.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential preferred.
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow and UKG Ready strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Outstanding customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to spend more than 50% of work time using a keyboard and a computer.
