About the Role:

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day Research & Development laboratory operations. This role will be responsible for coordinating lab operations activities including inventory and consumables, overseeing lab services by external and internal service providers, trouble shooting and maintaining safe and orderly lab environment.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Oversees vendor stocking materials in collaboration with Sourcing, but will serve as the R&D point person

  • Proactively monitors consumable inventory and is the point of contact for solvent/reagent restocking; Inventory Mgt/Restocking/eCommerce & order management; Chemical lifecycle management, regular lab consumable orders

  • Helps with lab cleanout, maintenance, chemical inventory and expiry tracking (scheduling, space designation, collaborating with EHS to relocate from lab to designated area)

  • Communicates to end-users on back orders, alternative products and predicted shortages/changes

  • Works with vendors to secure discounted bulk pricing and offsite storage for highly used items (tips, plates)

  • Oversees all stock rooms and have ability to actively redistribute items when emergencies arise

  • Monitors cold rooms space to avoid clutter and help with space designation

  • Collaborates with and informs Facilities Operations and Laboratory Asset Management to address issues with equipment calibrations, services & repairs, decommissioning, move, inventory of equipment and location; future-assess utilization of equipment; Management of equipment service contracts

  • Coordinates with IT to manage lab-related hardware, software, and server/system requirements

  • Understands and ensures staff follows industry standards for laboratory compliance and safety

  • Adheres to safety procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment specific to R&D labs

  • Monitors to endure all the Lab personnel use appropriate protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, safety goggles and safety shoes

  • Ensure laboratories are organized and clutter-free at all times

  • Collaborates with EHS/Facilities operations to ensure lab waste disposal such as sharp items, broken glass, solvents, and potent compounds are on schedule and prompt

  • Participates in preparing lab for health authority audits

  • Facilitates lab tours with new hires and visitors as required

  • When assigned, provides training to new hire or junior scientist to perform essential lab functions including gowning/de-gowning procedure, waste handling, equipment operation

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree and 4+ years of Pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Associates degree and 6+ years of Pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Collaborates with facility, and vendor to identify utilities requirements such as power outlet, water connection, compressed air, nitrogen to help onboard new equipment

  • Demonstrates solid level of understanding R&D priorities and RDSO goals

  • Ability to work as part of a team; may train staff

  • Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented yet can see broader picture

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, with a high degree of ownership and responsibility

  • Strong project management skills

  • Awareness and understanding of cGLPs and cGMPs relating to pharmaceuticals

  • Must be self-motivated, independent and proactive

  • Ability to learn quickly and think independently

  • Strong knowledge of clean lab principles

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and compliance regulations

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $95,100.00-$138,050.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
