Construction Accounting Manager

Acara Solutions is seeking a Construction Accounting Manager for a commercial real estate company located in the city of Buffalo.

• Type: Direct Hire
• Salary: $110,000-130,000K, depending on experience
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM with flexibility to come in early or stay late depending on department needs

Responsibilities:

1. Project Cost Setup & Budget Management - Establish budgets, input data into MRI, and manage revisions.
2. Cost Oversight & Analysis - Review POs, COs, and contracts for accuracy, perform variance analyses, and ensure compliance with cost segregation.
3. Job Cost Monitoring & Reporting - Maintain ledgers, track expenditures, and distribute financial summaries.
4. Billing & Revenue Tracking - Manage tenant billables, invoicing, and lien waiver compliance.
5. Collaboration & Support - Attend meetings, supervise Construction AP Managers, and assist project managers with financial decisions.
6. Audit & Compliance - Prepare audit documentation and ensure policy and regulatory adherence.
7. Project Closure - Reconcile and close completed projects.

• Minimum of 5 years in construction accounting, with strong experience in project-level cost tracking and analysis.
• Minimum of 5 year of commercial real estate & lease accounting experience.
  
• Associate degree in accounting required

• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., MRI, Procore) and advanced Excel skills.
