Job Description Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the MDM platforms currently in place at Vertex and manage the platform strategy and roadmaps aligned to business needs.
- Develop and execute a master data management (MDM) platform strategy aligned to the business strategy and goals, develop MDM capability and technology roadmaps focused on delivering for Vertex business priorities across new MDM domains.
- Collaborate with technology portfolio managers, business engagement leads, governance leads and business users to identify and collect MDM technology and platform requirements.
- Implement, support, and maintain the technology platforms and software solutions to support MDM needs across multiple domains including customer, supplier and product.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams to establish MDM standards, architecture, and processes.
- Manage the technology teams running the MDM technology and platforms.
- Establish data quality processes that ensure the high quality and integrity of foundational master data sets across business functions.
- Manage relationships with the strategic software vendors and service providers providing technology solutions and ongoing operational support for the MDM area.
- Work closely with DTE Compliance, Data Privacy, Data Security and Quality Assurance groups to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong Master Data Management knowledge and experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of foundational biopharma master data sets across multiple domains.
- Expertise in MDM principles, system architecture and data integration.
- Experience leading implementation and operational support of MDM platforms. (Informatica, Reltio, etc.)
- Strong understanding and awareness of data governance, data privacy, data security and compliance to relevant rules and regulations in the biopharma industry.
- Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of modern technologies like cloud computing, cybersecurity, data services and data platforms like AWS, Snowflake and Databricks.
- Vendor management, demand management, resource management and system life cycle expertise.
- Prior experience running IT managed services or outsourced/offshore teams.
- Superior MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint Experience.
- Strong experience in Agile methodology as well as continuous integration / continuous development principles.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in technology discipline).
- 8+ years' experience working in growing technology roles with at least 5 years in technology lead positions.
- 5+ years' experience in Master Data Management and related technology platforms preferably in the life sciences and/or healthcare industry
Pay Range: $156,000 - $234,000

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
