Summary

The Research Systems & Services (RS&S) Clerk assists in maintaining the Firm's collections of print, serials, and online research resources. This includes filing loose-leaf services, responding to copy requests, re-shelving books, processing the mail and access maintenance duties for electronic resources (usernames, passwords, seat assignment, account creation, etc.). The RS&S Clerk will also participate in various projects as assigned.

Required Education & Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years LAA experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.


Preferred Education & Experience



  • College or business school.
  • 1-3 years of clerical and filing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Library System is a plus.
  • Law Firm experience preferred.


Essential Functions

  • Administrative & Collection Maintenance (100%)

    • Process library mail.
    • Update records in the Integrated Library System.
    • Update material in the library collection following vendor instructions.
    • Prepare and organize the physical library collection, including labeling and shifting materials.
    • Locate books for updating and delivery.
    • Online access maintenance duties for electronic resources.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the responsibilities of the position, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the person in this position will encounter. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a professional, fast paced office environment that may require additional hours to complete work.
