What you will do

As a Plant Manager within our Ansul Tank Systems Manufacturing facility supporting custom, make to order/engineered to order products, you will lead operations across our 100-person plant optimizing resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. Johnson Controls' Plant Managers are people-supportive leaders who work towards results, improves processes, and develops strong teams. Specifically, this means you will play an integral part in planning, leading and reviewing production operations to achieve output and quality objectives; supervising expenditures and forecasting resource inputs; and operating, supervising and maintaining production equipment. We are seeking a strong change manager with extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing. How you will do it

  • Leads team with full operational and budget responsibility.

  • Develops and implements key measurable to drive business improvements within the department.

  • Establishes key strategic activity required to develop people to increase capabilities in meeting overall business objectives.

  • Ensures that production efficiency and schedule exceeds the required level.

  • Ensures maintenance responsiveness and total cost of maintenance exceeds the required level with good management of all third-party facilities/site service contracts.

  • Maintains and develops the delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality, and production schedule requirements.

  • Leads the development and implementation of significant improvements in department wide processes, procedures, and systems.

  • Develops a continuous improvement philosophy with goals and timelines.

  • Runs and leads staff in an efficient and flexible manner, ensuring all training and development has been performed and vital qualifications are in place.

  • Recruitment and hiring of leadership positions for manufacturing - both direct and indirect reports including other departments.

  • Plant communication on business conditions, performance indicators and policies to all employees.

  • Customer interface related to tours, customer visits and voice of the customer information.

  • Approval and verification of manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field such as Industrial Engineering.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of foundational manufacturing experience in Manufacturing Operations role(s).

  • Extensive experience in Six Sigma and Lean.

  • Experience managing capital projects.

  • Proven experience developing budgets and handling financial performance.

  • Good social skills, especially as they apply to communication and conflict resolution. They will be able to work together with internal partners in a multi-functional matrix organization and with external customers.

  • Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine.
