Position Summary: As the Production Supervisor, you are entrusted with the vital responsibility of ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and optimizing asset performance, all while adhering to the production plan within the specified timeframe. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, including active participation in the hiring process, onboarding new employees, managing performance, and implementing corrective actions. Beyond day-to-day operations, your problem-solving abilities will drive continuous improvement initiatives across the entire plant. To excel in this position, it is critical to foster proactive collaboration with other teams on-site and within the broader division, ensuring alignment between your area and the organization as a whole. As a role model, the Production Supervisor must lead by example, cultivating a workplace culture that inspires and motivates associates at every level. Your focus on achieving results will be assessed through key performance metrics, ultimately determining the level of success attained. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the people development plan on schedule and verify your team's competencies as agreed with the Project Manager. This includes providing appropriate training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and hygiene practices. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) among all team members.
- Maintain a safe work environment consistently. Make sure updated work instructions are available for all positions and that processes follow SOPs, SSOPs, and other relevant documentation. Execute activities with environmental impact in accordance with environmental management protocols.
- Achieve quality objectives by regularly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), conducting sanitation audits, performing food safety checks, and inspecting product quality according to company policies.
- Participate actively in preventing and correcting quality-related errors. Monitor and enforce personnel hygiene and safety practices, such as using protective clothing (uniforms), changing shoes, and handwashing. Continuously coach employees to meet and exceed job requirements using the NCE approach.
- Review daily target achievements and report any deviations during floor and review meetings. Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate smooth handoffs and effectively communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
- Ensure continuous line controls and take immediate corrective actions to maintain prescribed quality standards and comply with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies. Maintain effective employee and industrial relations management to ensure smooth factory operations.
- Ensure the skills distribution is adequate to effectively achieve the production plan. Coordinate timely product launches with the business unit/area. Work with quality, engineering, and administration to ensure proper maintenance of facilities. Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance Mechanics and team members to identify opportunities for improvement. Prioritize, schedule, and complete maintenance and repairs promptly to maximize efficiency.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience (including military service) preferred in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of previous production supervisory experience is required.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and adherence to safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening abilities.
- Basic understanding of warehousing principles and concepts.
- Strong capacity to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and open communication while being adaptable. This includes adjusting approaches to match varied task requirements, adapting behavior to others' styles, changing priorities to meet shifting demands, and quickly adjusting to new responsibilities and tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences, effectively facilitating group coaching sessions, and sharing information.
- Possession of strong interpersonal skills, consistently maintaining a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate individuals through mentoring and coaching. Skilled in assisting individuals in identifying both short-term and long-term development needs and providing necessary support to foster growth.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously through highly developed organizational skills.
- Ability to set effective and challenging objectives.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with root cause problem-solving abilities.
- High energy level and excellent follow-up abilities.
- ERP knowledge, with SAP strongly preferred.
- Intermediate-level computer skills in Microsoft Office (NT/XP/Vista versions).
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 15-20 lb. boxes repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be flexible to work weekends.
Theapproximate payrange for this position is $80,000.00to $85,000.00.Please note that thepay rangeprovided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
