What you will do: Under supervision of the Engineering Manager, Eletronics Engineers and Engineering Assistants and Technicians, aid in the prototype building and testing of HVAC/R Control Products containing electrical, electronic, embedded controls, pneumatic and mechanical subsystems. Other responsibilities include completion of technical reports, documenting daily work activities, and maintaining laboratory equipment in a safe, proper working condition. The Electronics Engineering Intern will keep supervisor informed of status, concerns or problems at all times. How you will do it: * Building electronic and mechanical prototypes o Soldering printed circuit boards o Assembling products o Creation of simple mechanical components * Building test setups * Performing component and product testing o Setting-up test o Executing test procedures o Writing test reports * Updating existing processes and instructions * Creating new processes and instructions * Upgrading of lab infrastructure * Organizing lab * Troubleshooting Printed Circuit Board assemblies at component level. * Understands to read electrical schematics * Willing to learn and do simple design projects (schematic entry and layout) using Mentor Graphics or other CAD tools. * Be able to run simple electronics circuits simulations using LT Spice, Multisim or other simulation programs. What we look for: Required * Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelors program majoring in Electrical Engineering (Other Engineering majors will be considered). * Able to work full time during semester breaks, and to work at least 12 hours per week when school is in session. * Ability to work in a dynamic environment with emphasis on flexibility in adapting to changes. * Strong computer skills in standard Microsoft applications. * Ability and willingness to preform hands-on activities. * Knowledge of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical engineering disciplines. * Ability to create processes, process improvements and corrective actions. * Basic knowledge of LT Slice, Multisim or other simulation tools * Optional: Basic knowledge of reading electrical schematics. * Excellent verbal and written communication. * Quick learner with ability to handle complex problems and processes. Preferred * Ability to perform mechanical construction and testing. |
