White 9 is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA), with Day and Night availability, to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. The medical acute care unit has twenty-five-beds for patients, and is located in Boston, MA. A majority of patients are admitted directly from the Emergency Department and have single or multi-system problems including, but not exclusively, alterations in gas exchange, airway clearance, cardiac function, renal function, nutrition, hepatic function, skin integrity and mental states. What are we looking for? Assisting the healthcare team, the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. Schedule Day (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am) Weekend and holiday rotation What do we have to offer?
