Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium Program Specialist
12 Month Position

Compensation: Salary beginning at $61,102.14 per year

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will assist in the onboarding, placement, and ongoing support of adult learners, ensuring they have access to the resources and guidance necessary to succeed academically, personally, and professionally. This role is critical in fostering a positive learning environment, promoting student engagement, and facilitating the successful transition of students into further education, workforce development, or other related opportunities. This position will work from all sites in Great Rivers' service area.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Collaborate closely with program coordinators, instructors, and community partners.

2. Support student intake, including orientation/registration, conducte testing/assessments for program placement and advancement, classroom material sales, and appropriate class placement.

3. Provide communication via newsletters and email blasts to students, families, and staff.

4. Provide support to all areas of Great Rivers staff, programs and locations (80% day hours, 20% evening hours).

5. Provide resources to overcome barriers to success (childcare, transportation, chemical dependency, etc.)

6. Participate in professional working groups, such as the Support Professionals Advisory & Resource Committee (SPARC).

7. Assist with Pearson Vue and other proctored testing.

8. Maintaining the Great Rivers Student Information Database (SID) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

9. Maintain student enrollment and exits per class.

10. Create reports for Great Rivers and Adult Education/Business partners.

11. Complete annual state and federal reports for Great Rivers.

12. Communicate with students that are new to the program, absent from classes, and on the waiting list.

13. Collaborate with the district communications team to implement successful marketing strategies and timelines.

14. Collaborate with Community Education staff to support and cross promote programming for families.

15. Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

Required:

1. College Degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

2. Appreciation and respect for diverse gender identities, cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, abilities, and experiences.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of characteristics and needs of adult students and diverse populations.

4. Understanding regarding the State and Federal policies and mandates of Adult Education.

5. Previous history with adult students of diverse populations.

6. Excellent customer service skills.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

8. Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

9. Digital literacy skills that include proficiency in productivity software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Google Apps), Outlook/Gmail.

10. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.

11. Demonstrates an empathetic approach to student challenges.

Desired:

1. Proficiency in multiple languages.

2. Familiarity with relational databases and their management.

3. Experience using Infinite Campus student management system.

4. Proficiency in Canva for creating visual content communications.

5. Previous experience with grant writing and securing funding.
