Location: Silverdale, Washington (Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor)

Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $22.54 - $22.54 per hour

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and reliable Floor Crew Team Member with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work may require repetitive motion including reaching out, lifting, kneeling, walking and standing for several hours at a time.

  • Perform floor care work such as mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet shampooing and vacuuming.

  • Must be able to safely operate floor care machines for stripping and buffing.

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and kneel.

  • Perform pressure washing on structures, sidewalks, streets, parking lots, etc.

  • Must be able to safely operate gas powered pressure washer, which may include standing, reaching, bending, and repetitive motion for several hours at a time.

  • Must be able to move between many different tasks on a day-to-day basis.

  • Construction clean-up, to include cleaning up dust and debris during or after construction projects.

  • Must be able to safely use and maintain basic personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety toe boots, hearing protection and gloves.

  • Must be able to workdays, nights and weekends as required.

  • Must be able to perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months experience is preferred but not required.

  • Work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work all shifts including day, swing, grave, or on-call.

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

This position is represented by United Steel Workers, Local 9241.
