Position Description

Performs clerical duties of a specialized or technical nature, which may be performed in a variety of settings. Responsibilities may include basic bookkeeping, typing, word processing, filing, sorting, posting, verifying, recording, and data coding and processing of moderate complexity. A general understanding of organizational policies and procedures and some expertise in the area of assigned work is required. Duties are performed under direction within established policies and procedures with job performance based upon completion of assigned tasks.

About the Department and/or College

Every student in University Advising is looking for that ideal major. Students may know what they want (e.g., engineering, nursing school, finance, etc.), but they need to work on the requirements to get there. Some students aren't quite sure what the pathway is for them, but they have an idea of where they want to go and are willing to collaborate with us to figure it out. University Advising is where students can begin an academic journey and create their own unique path to reach their own unique goals.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Serve as primary reception for department
  • Manage department calendar of events
  • Supervise student assistants
  • Provide support for department events
  • Answer and direct phone calls

Required Qualifications

Proficiency in written and mathematical processes as may be reflected by the completion of high school or the equivalent. One year clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal one year may substitute on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TTU systems
