The Protein Business Director is the head of Hershey's Protein portfolio. The Business Director reports to the VP of US Brand Marketing, owns the Protein Portfolio P&L, and will set the future vision and strategic direction for the ONE and FULFIL Protein brands while also being responsible for annual plan execution and delivery.

Key accountabilities include 3-year marketing plans linked to company targets, brand-building strategies and plans, annual sales, profit and loss at the category/country level, market share development plans and targets, along with the full range of leadership accountabilities to the team and their development. This role will also be responsible for key capability building in growing high potential mid-sized and emerging brands, helping refine team processes and ways of working in order to drive go-to-market execution with agility and speed.

This leader must have a keen view of the external environment including trends impacting the business, competitive assessments, and an understanding of both consumers and customers. They must be able to work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and teamwork. This role must demonstrate strong thought leadership to identify opportunities for growth and leverage category and consumer insights to develop best-in-class brand plans, as well as drive cross-functional initiatives which deliver on these plan goals.

- Lead and deliver the core brand strategy and annual plan for the US Protein portfolio

- Develop 3-year vision and strategic objectives which drive individual brand strategies, innovation pipeline, and cross-functional resource planning

- Lead development of annual marketing plans that deliver revenue and share growth and link to 3-year growth plans to deliver commercial success

- Collaborate closely with the other functional leaders to deliver annual brand activation and innovation launches across Media, Omnichannel, Social, Digital, PR, and all other relevant marketing channels

- Provide people leadership to the marketing organization as it relates to role and responsibility structure, people development, and performance management

- Develop and deliver annual Marketing budget, inclusive of Media investment, Omnichannel activation, and Non-working marketing investments

- Collaborate with Sales leaders to drive Hershey Protein success across top US retailers, distributors, specialty channels, and digital commerce

- Continually evolve and optimize Hershey Protein marketing, innovation, omnichannel, and sales go-to-market processes in collaboration with cross-functional leaders

Critical Leadership Capabilities:

Driving Results: This leader will formulate growth strategies and initiatives to deliver P&L results across existing businesses. Progression of successful accomplishments that include leadership through ambiguity to identify and commercialize significant new brand/products or major new business initiatives that delivered business results. Meeting commitments and driving results are critical to establishing Hershey Protein relevance and credibility.

Commercial Leadership: This individual will be expected to accelerate the top-line growth of the current brands amid an evolving Protein Snacking landscape. He/she will demonstrate a keen understanding of CPG / Protein marketplace dynamics and the ability to anticipate and capitalize on emerging trends (plus evolving customer and consumer preferences and demands) to arrive at sound strategies which deliver growth.

Portfolio Operation: The ideal candidate will have experience within or closely collaborating alongside critical business operation functions including Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, etc, and must be comfortable developing and executing plans which drive value creation across the P&L to support the portfolio's top and bottom line growth.

Collaboration and influencing skills: The ideal leader will be collaborative and have an inherent ability to lead. This leader is comfortable managing through ambiguity and in a fast-moving, matrixed environment. This executive will enjoy and participate in a culture of collaboration in which everyone is focused on getting to the best idea. He/she will enjoy partnering with team members, possesses a collaborative approach and employ active listening combined with a factual, detailed communication style. This leader has a proven ability to drive change through direct and non-direct reporting relationships.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree required, MBA or relevant Master's degree highly preferred / significant CPG experience in lieu of Master's degree

* Experience: 8-12 year's commercial or marketing development experience with increasing levels of responsibility and proven expertise in small-to-mid-sized brand building, leadership of multi-level teams, and ideally cross-functional experience across both Marketing and Sales-related functions.
