Your responsibilities
Summary: The Production Supervisor is a hands-on leadership position. This individual assists the Motorsports Operations Manager by being a point of contact and lead to the production team, ensuring efficient operations in a variety of areas within production and ensuring high quality products are produced. This role is responsible for supporting daily production goals, meeting customer demand, and industrializing new products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
- Ability to perform all BTC Technician I, II, and III Essential Duties and Responsibilities when needed.
- Ensures production is running efficiently.
- Ensures planned KPI's efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
- Maintains production reporting in database (SAP).
- Ensures first pass yields and quality levels met or exceeded.
- Leads team environment and maintains employee motivation.
- Works actively in production area and supports technicians.
- Assigns employees to job tasks based on training and capabilities.
- Develops and maintains a qualification / training matrix and designs a cross-training strategy.
- Trains and monitors all employees assigned to the production line and rotates them through each workstation ensuring they are cross trained. Retrains employees if quality issues are detected.
- Assists team members by answering questions and demonstrating operations.
- Communicates resource needs and roadblocks to Motorsports Operations Manager.
- Provides feedback to the Motorsports Operations Manager regarding employee performance to allow for proper recognition on performance evaluations.
- Identifies personnel issues, addresses challenges, and resolves issues timely.
- Designs and leads continuous improvement activities including 6S, Six Sigma and other optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness in production.
- Improves the safety, housekeeping, and quality of operations while ensuring compliance with regulations of OSHA, and any other local, state, and federal agencies.
- Ensures all housekeeping activities are completed throughout the day and shut down procedures are followed. Helps maintain an orderly work area by returning tools and materials to storage areas.
- Manages maintenance of BTC equipment, tools and fixtures to maintain good working order.
- Exercises independent judgement and discretion in connection with exercising job duties.
- Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
- Ensures compliance and safety of all activities within the organization standards and policies.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Substantial and successful progressive experience leading a production team in a small production area with an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality, production planning, engineering, and process improvement.
- Experience developing automated equipment and manufacturing tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) configuration.
- Knowledge of inventory control and accuracy measures.
- Experience with machining equipment and measurement instruments.
- Experience in ISO 9001, TS16949 quality systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, SPC and other continuous improvement tools.
- Six Sigma Lean, CPIM or other applicable certifications, a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), SAP experience highly desirable.
- Proven skills organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Demonstrated ability working with various levels of management as well as cross-functional staff.
- Fluent in the English language (both, oral/written) and able to lead daily department meetings.
- Effective hands-on leader who garners trust and loyalty from subordinates and possesses and displays integrity and ethics that are beyond reproach.
- Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
- Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
- Demonstrated successful employment track record, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to maintain a safe working environment.
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or equivalent experience
