Summary

The CCA Director shall design, conduct, oversee, and direct CCA training and education throughout the company, with the goal of implementing CCA enterprise wide. The CCA Director shall build strong rapport with operations leaders to enable the Director to influence and inspire operators to implement CCA in earnest and execute on CCA's principles. The CCA Director shall also develop and implement business and operational strategies to drive business unit operational and financial results.

Reporting Structure: The CCA Directors shall report to the National President of Ground and Support Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Continually develop distinctive strategies to create competitive advantage to prevent stagnation of our CCA program and to ensure that GMR evolves to meet or stay ahead of prevailing market forces.
  • Teach CCA principles through formal and informal education sessions.
  • Teach business and ambulance science concepts and inspire / influence operators to translate those concepts into sound business practices that produce measurable results.
  • In collaboration with business unit leaders, analyze all aspects of business operations, identify issues, and inspire sound decision making to remedy issues and drive quantifiable results. The following are examples of past results produced through CCA, the types of results we expect the CCA Directors to replicate:
    • A GMR region reduced its payroll by $13,000,000 over an eleven-month period without any diminution in service to the communities it serves.
    • A business unit eliminated 8,000 unfavorable transports and in so doing increased its annual EBITDA by $900,000 and increased its on-time performance from 68% to 91%.
    • A business unit eliminated 177 one-off customers to focus on its principal (core) customer, eliminating turned calls, increasing desirable transport volume by 5%, and increasing its EBITDA by 521%.
    • A business unit eliminated 75 one-off customers and increased its desirable transport volume by 10%, while significantly reducing lost calls, and exceeding budgeted metrics in every operational and financial category.
    • A business unit eliminated a remote, non-core customer and as a result increased its EBITDA from the previous year by 28% and exceeded its budgeted EBITDA by 280%.
    • A business unit that failed to meet its contractual performance requirements 51 months in a row successfully implemented CCA and consequently posted 33 straight months of compliance, exceeding its annual EBITDA target by $2.7mm in 2023.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to identify financially and operationally sound and sustainable business and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to identify unsound business and improve or exit that business to make way for sound growth opportunities.
  • Utilize financial records (including budgets, forecasts, payroll data, etc.) and key metrics to analyze and make decisions to meet specific strategic and financial goals.
  • Deliver clear and well-organized information in presentations and written format.
  • Coach, mentor, and support operations leaders to optimize operations in view of all economic and operational constraints.
  • Regular travel to assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience

  • Master of Business Administration preferred, but a bachelor's degree in business or appropriate field of study plus 10 years business / operations experience in the EMS industry will be considered.
  • 10 years' experience in high-volume EMS operations as a Regional Director, Vice President of Operations, or equivalent position of high-level operational and financial responsibility.
  • High level of emotional and social intelligence.
  • Demonstrated record of cultivating relationships with internal and external customer base.
  • Detailed understanding of business modeling, proformas, P&L statements, balance sheets, and KPI reports.

This position is annual bonus eligible.
