THE JOB:

The Executive Director of Catering is responsible for providing strategic leadership and daily management of property-based, industry-leading luxury meeting and event operations. This role specializes in catering, group dining, hospitalities, and weddings, with a focus on strategic planning, team leadership, financial performance, and staff development. The position is tasked with creating and implementing strategies that ensure the property's competitive advantage within the market while maximizing revenue opportunities.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead the Catering, Group Dining, Hospitality, and Wedding Sales teams through communication, coaching, and education to align with departmental goals, fostering synergy with Convention Services, Sales, and Banquet departments.
  • Monitor financial performance, including forecasting, budget development, and revenue maximization through strategic food and beverage offerings and pricing.
  • Drive sales strategies to maximize revenue, manage space availability, negotiate contracts, and directly oversee at least two catering groups annually.
  • Develop and maintain brand standards, including innovative food, beverage, and venue offerings, sustainability initiatives, and collaboration with Brand Marketing.
  • Ensure adherence to guest service and brand standards through refined processes and exemplary professional interactions.
  • Oversee operational strategies, continuously improving efficiency and enhancing the guest experience.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities, fostering a collaborative work environment, performance feedback, training, and diversity-focused hiring and succession planning.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Would have a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Catering, Convention, and/or Banquet operations, with prior experience in a similar luxury resort setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing operating and capital budgets, staff planning, and purchasing equipment, along with a proven track record of effective food and beverage cost controls.
  • Proficiency in using catering sales systems and the ability to analyze data to drive strategic decisions.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, ensuring satisfaction at all touchpoints.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the dynamic needs of the business.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering collaboration and achieving departmental goals in a high-pressure, luxury environment.
