Position: Full-Time Special Term Contract Faculty, Veterinary Technician Program

Department: School of Health Sciences, Kinesiology, and Sport Studies

Location: Upper Bucks Campus, Perkasie

The Full-Time Special Term Contract Faculty, Veterinary Technician will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and laboratory formats. This role involves assessing student learning, utilizing various teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, and ensuring a high-quality educational experience. The faculty member will also be responsible for coordinating clinical placements, managing instructional supplies, and participating in new student orientation and faculty interviews as needed.

Requirement:

  • The faculty member must be available to teach at all campuses and through all modalities (in-person, online, or hybrid).

Primary Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline by selecting and utilizing a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods that address all learning modalities to ensure that the needs of individual students in the program are met.

  • Assess student learning using appropriate methods.

  • Conduct an engaging classroom lecture and/or lab based on the course outline.

  • Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity to concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.

  • Plan for equipment and supplies or other activities as needed.

  • Complete all course assessments as required.

  • Use technology to enhance teaching/learning in the classroom.

  • Participate, when needed, in interviewing part-time faculty members.

  • Participate in new student orientation

  • Order and stock Vet Tech instructional supplies

  • In consultation with the Dean, secure clinical placements for Vet Tech students

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

  • A licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician must be a graduate of an AVMA or CVMA-accredited program.

Appointment: May 1, 2025
