Oversees all sales activities for all domestic products or services offered by the Distribution division in assigned territory. Develops sales objectives, strategies, advertising, and promotions with sales manager to maintain and grow business in assigned territory. Works with the technology department and manager to sell, install, and resolve issues with ADAPCO's products. Makes recommendations to management regarding opportunities to maximize sales in the assigned territory. Appropriately scheduled and meets with territory customers to build and enhance relationships, as well as to maintain and grow the business with new and existing customers. Identifies and contacts prospective clients, generates sales proposals, and services existing accounts, ensuring quality and consistency of service and/or product delivery. Works with other company divisions to identify sales opportunities in assigned territory. Responsible for all bids, tradeshows, and customer interactions in assigned territory.
- Assist in the development of yearly territory sales forecast/budget
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity.
- Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy.
- Use, manage, and update relevant information held in customer database systems.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions, ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaisons to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales with other organized marketing activities, i.e., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, and telemarketing.
- Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods.
- Identifies and resolves customer concerns.
- Prepares various status reports, including monthly activity reports, expense reports, follow-up status on key projects and goals, reports on special projects, and feedback gathered through field activity.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to track/update market share, share of wallet, customer buying power, and all relative territory market intelligence.
- Make the best effort to manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed-upon goals.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
- Develops and supervises the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs; prepares for and attends exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities.
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
- Will Adhere to, support, and enforce all company health and safety programs, policies, and other requirements relating to the safety and care of company equipment.
- Plan and manage T&E expenses according to agreed upon budgets.
- Organize, schedule, and manage workshop and training events in the territory.
- Maintain constant communication flow with the sales manager regarding territory activities, such as customer complaints, pricing, and product issues.
Position Requirements
- An undergraduate degree is not required but beneficial - Biology or science degrees preferred (or experience equivalent) but not required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience preferred in the mosquito industry.
- Represent the Company with the utmost integrity and in a highly professional and polished manner, including proper dress and conduct.
- Thorough understanding of the typical selling process.
- Actively participate in all appropriate industry associations deemed necessary by the VP of Sales.
- Occasional overnight trips outside the designated sales territory for seminars, training, and conventions
- Overnight travel as necessary or required
- Represent the Company in industry and professional activities, such as trade shows, seminars, etc.
