Sales Director - Protective (East US)

The Sales Director - Protective is a key sales leadership role for The Pittsburgh Paints Company. The role will be responsible for growing and developing sales of protective products in the eastern US sales area. This is a key leadership role that must have a strong understanding of the protective market and products, able to develop strategic sales plans and enjoys developing and coaching a high-performing sales team. You are creating awareness of our products and services and building relationships with contractors, important facilitators, influencers and end-users.

As part of the Protective Sales team, you will be remote and will report to the Vice President, Protective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary focus and accountability to drive profitable sales and grow our protective segment.

  • Manage the western region sales area, develops, and implements annual sales plans and expense budgets to achieve the company's goals.

  • Manage and coach a high-performing sales team

  • Partner with corporate accounts, US stores, and other key sales leaders.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.

  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.

  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.

  • Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals.

  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline for new business and membership development.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated selling experience

  • High school diploma is required, bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Experience with protective coatings is preferred.

  • CRM software experience preferred.

  • Extensive travel within an assigned region is required for customer and team meetings.
