Overview of the Position:

Strategic Sourcing role facilitates growth initiatives for the business and is responsible for managing, planning, and communicating the status of customer contract bid opportunities to internal and external stakeholders. It will align with internal business partners and work with the strategic supplier base to convert opportunities through strategic sourcing that bring value to our customers. They will develop more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximize profitability by negotiating with suppliers to obtain goods, material and services at the best availability and price through strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of commodities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Take ownership in, facilitate, and effectively communicate, with sales, product line management and pricing, key contract sourcing opportunities and deliverables.


  • Create a superior customer experience by managing and delivering sourcing projects on time.
  • Create and maintain long-lasting relationships with our strategic supply base through communications of Wencor strategies and how to create win-win scenarios.
  • Recognize both tactical and strategic opportunities to create value through partnering with suppliers who can create a superior market advantage over our competition.
  • Negotiate long-term pricing, quantity and delivery schedules with suppliers and be able to communicate outcome to sales leaders.



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Analytically minded and able to review and interpret large amounts of data.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in aerospace hardware sourcing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excellent Excel Skills, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work well with team members in a collaborative and respectful manner.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Sound time-management and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented and focused on results.

Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in administration, logistics, supply chain or related field or 5 years of equivalent experience

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
