Temporary Research Assistant - Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine

Description

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Research Assistant for WVU. This position will assist with research endeavors to expand and build a team. We are aiming to maintain or increase the productivity of the lab.

What You'll Do



  • Conduct primary laboratory research.
  • Maintaining mammalian cell cultures.
  • Performing experiments using mammalian cells.
  • Fluorescence microscopy.
  • Conducting their own independent research projects in the lab.
  • Molecular biology (cloning and PCR)


Pay Grade: 15

Length of Assignment: Approximately 8 months

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology or related field.
  • A minimum of 0-6 months of experience involving:

    • Prior experience working in a research lab


  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, fluorescence microscopy and mammalian cell culture. Training will be provided.
