Accounting Manager

Carbon By Design (CBD), a leading provider of advanced materials and composite solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the company's accounting operations. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, and contributing to the financial success of CBD and its sister company, Astroseal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, payroll processing, and month-end closing.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the accounting team.
• Perform month-end close activities for Carbon By Design and Astroseal.
• Prepare financial statements and provide variance analysis.
• Supervise and support the Accounts Payable (A/P) person, ensuring efficient processing of payables and payroll.
• Train, mentor, and oversee the A/P team member to improve processes and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and deliver reports on financial performance to the President of CBD.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning as needed.
• The Accounting Manager will collaborate with Heico's Internal Auditor and external auditors to address and fulfill their audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with state, and local regulations, including tax reporting and filings.
• The Accounting Manager will manage the company's inventory within the ERP system and lead cycle counts as well as year-end inventory counts.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, laws and regulations
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail while producing accurate high-quality work
• Team player that can thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to meet strict deadlines
• Experience with Epicor preferred
• Must be skilled in use of MS - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. - advanced level Excel skills a plus
